Paddy Leung is a genderqueer, neurodivergent, second-generation, Chinese-Canadian, artist, educator, and activist. Working in drawing and painting, mixed media, sculpture, and installation. Leung works with experimental art forms, from a unique perspective of community activism, to support various communities with diverse life experiences and multiple intersections of identities.
Leung’s practice has focused largely on providing community art-based programs, primarily for young people on the margins. Beyond their artistic endeavors, Paddy contributes to advocacy work by engaging in youth and community arts programs at a charitable organization that focuses on providing education and training in gender equity, 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion, and consent. With over a decade of experience participating in exhibitions, facilitating, producing, collaborating with, and mentoring artists across the city, Paddy is actively working towards fostering community liberation through their initiatives.
