Get Bent is a QTPOC collective based in Toronto and Montréal, dedicated to creating inclusive spaces for live performance, DIY events, and experimental community engagement. Their work challenges norms, celebrates queer joy, and fosters environments where imagination, play, and self-expression are central.

As part of this collective, I collaborated with artists, designers, writers, and creatives to design and facilitate accessible, hands-on DIY events. These immersive experiences created spaces where participants could feel seen, safe, and affirmed—a place to dream, wonder, and play in a shimmery, celebratory world. The gatherings emphasized the importance of QTPOC community coming together to honor our collective existence, remind each other of our value, and nurture visibility that carries forward to the next generation and beyond.

This project deepened my practice in care-driven, inclusive art programming, highlighting how collaborative creative spaces can amplify marginalized voices, cultivate belonging, and transform public and social environments into vibrant experiences of connection, joy, and resilience.
