In celebration of the Lunar New Year, a collaborative public art installation that engaged an intergenerational community of participants and resulted in a public artwork viewed by thousands. The Chinatown BIA had approached STEPS Public Art to develop a public art program to foster community and to improve awareness of the local businesses within Chinatown. PUFF Paddy was the lead facilitator artist who designed and developed 4 free intergenerational community art programs at 3 different locations: Ceil Community Centre, Chinese Gospel Church and Tea Base for hosting the workshops.
The outcome was amazing, we had over 100 community members participating in the workshop and made over 🏮️250 lanterns. All lanterns were displayed at the Dragon City Mall front entrance and the second-floor hallway.
